Purple Heart toy box - what to use to keep the natural color of the purple heart.

I am building a toy box out of purple heart. I am looking for a finish that will bring out the natural color of the wood and with stand the ware and of kids. I have never put a finish on ph before and any advice would be well appreciated.

I'd like to see the photo of the purple heart toy box before it has finish on it....and of course after.

I've only done small turned objects with purple heart and I've used shellac and wax only. It is beautiful but not durable for a toy box.
