duckkisser Posted June 24, 2011 Report Share Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) ok i made this small box that i sold to friend who gave to her kid as a baby gift. it is made out of blue pine (loveing it so far) and little bit of cherry. for the handles......im a little unhappy with the box top thinking i should not have used the regular pine with the blue pine but so far im not unhappy with the way it looks. The handles are cherry (the red) and just regular pine but i set the grain so that it flowes towards the center of each handle. The finish was a wax she wanted to have a muted surface to soften the grey staining and wanted it to be baby frendly so wax was the best thing i can think of. duckkisser Posted June 24, 2011 Author Report Share Posted June 24, 2011 Now that im looking at box blown up i notice a bleed out of the glue on the handle sigh thought i got everything. At least its not as noticable in real life ohand the handle is slightly scuffed bacause its cherry and i just sanded out some ridges so it still needs to darken.
