WoodWorkerWannabe
Hello all, I am new to the forum and this is my 1st post. I am thinking of buying an HVLP sprayer, the Earlex 5500. I have never used one before and have questions on how soon it should be cleaned. I am thinking of using General Finishes' Enduro var (water-based finish) with the sprayer. The finish says it requires 2-4 hours to dry. So if I'm going to spray multiple coats, am I supposed to clean the gun after each coat? I'm concerned that if I wait 2 hours between coats the finish will dry inside the gun. Thanks! WoodWorkerWannabe
thewoodwhisperer
I personally will keep a gun filled with water-base finish throughout the day. I just don't let it sit overnight. After spraying, a little bit of finish will most likely dry on the tip of the needle. I just use my fingernail to pop that off, give the can a little shake, and I'm ready to spray again.
