markv14
I am planning to paint over my 20 year old dark stained cabinets using white or a light color. My thought is to scuff sand, spray on BIN pigmented shellac primer and then topcoat with latex or GF Milk paint. I am new to this and any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. AceHoleInOne
General Finishes has a product called Enduro White Undercoat and is a spray grade blockout primer. You may want to use that prior to using the milk paint. -Ace- Latex wall paint and General Finishes Milk Paint are 2 different animals. The Milk Paint has excellent adhesion and is self-sealing and made for wood. It’s like comparing a car to a pickup truck, one’s not better than the other it just has different features for different jobs.
RyanLincoln
When painting, brush over the surface only a few times with a high quality brush or roller. Having brush marks in wet paint is normal, and as the paint dries, these marks will level out. Two thin coats offer a better finish than one thick coat. Allow the paint to dry between coats.
