ryandetzel
Iappears that the back rail will only install(holes line up) upside down, should the lip be up or down?
greatrockandroll
The lip on the back rail is supposed to face out and be at the top
spuriousdata
I had a lot of assembly problems with the R4512. I don't know if you tried this already, but I had assembled the two 'halves' of the rails in the wrong order and none of the holes lined up because of that. So if you might have done that, try reversing the rail halves.

spuriousdata
FYI: If I remember correctly, the seam between the two halves should be in basically the same place as it is on the front rail. I'll check later on if the shorter or longer rail-half is on the left.
spuriousdata
Ok, so if you were facing the saw as if you were going to make a cut, the short half of the rear bar would be on your left. The lip faces up and out. I've attached two (bad) pictures of mine, but you should be able to barely make out that the seam between the two halves lines up almost perfectly with the center of the throat plate.
