daninhim
a couple years ago I built a stand for my delta Contractor saw...essentially a rectangular box with a dust port area. It's on wheels that rate at 250lbs# each, if I remember correctly. The saw weighs about 400lbs, so i figured this would be plenty. What I did not count on was that, over time, rolling this thing around the shop, the wheels get nicked and scratched by crap lying on the floor of the shop and develop flat spots. Suddenly, moving my 400lb saw feels like moving a 1500lb walrus. Anyone have any great recommendations for a set of wheels that are rugged and roll smoothly even with hundreds of pounds on them? Ben H
What kind of wheels did you use? I would think a hard urethane style wheel would work....
Rutabagared
Mike, I've had good luck with the offerings available at Caster City. They have a good website that explains the applications of the various wheel materials and a huge selection. Joe
jimmykx250
The bigger the better. Hard urethane works well for me. Small wheels are to hard to get over stuff. 4" wors well for me and no flat spots!
