Bobby Slack
Pictures soon. I had some leftover walnut and cypress. My electrical panel outside needed a new door so I am making a frame and panel door. Stiles and rails made of cypress. Center panel made of resawn walnut left over. Cypress is great wood for outdoors and walnut? well, I read in a book that was used for railroad ties so there is only one way to find out. Joinery? Mahogany dominos Glue? West Systems Stain .... but of course ... Sikkens. Pictures very soon.
wdwerker
Only a woodworker would put such materials and effort into a panel cover door! I bet we all have something just as outrageous in our homes. I am guilty of solid mahogany window sill shelf extensions and a solid mahogany toilet paper holder. So let's hear it, what sort of overkill are the rest of you guilty of? Come on fess up. As a teenager I had a solid walnut 3" x 10" bumper on my custom van. Still have the plank, but the van is long gone.
