osgw380
Well I made the trip out to see the saw mill I have been using and as usual come home with wood but no money in my wallet. I got two sycamore board that are 24'' across and about 12' long 8/4. Not sure what to do with the sycamore has anybody had any experience with it. The guy told me it is spalted and i cleaned a small area up on it but didn't see any spalting. Also could not resist the walnut slabs the one larger one I purchased its mate about 6 months ago. The smaller ones not sure what i will do with them but I bought them for $4 apiece!! And the grande finally was the dark deep red cherry board. You might notice the burned outer edge. Last time I was there they had a burned log and they thought it was walnut and they asked if i wanted a slab of it. When they got it cut open it is cherry. I'm not sure how it will work but it sure is purdy. I am thinking the sycamore cherry combo would look good in end tables not sure what wood for top, legs or aprons...any suggestions? SeanWalker
The cherry board looks amazing! I'm a fan of cherry wood that has dark brown streaks in it.
