JohnDi
Found a wooden skew plane at a flea market. Iron is marked humphreysville mfg. Co. Warranted steel. Iron is 3/4" wide. Plane is stamped greenfield tool. Anyone ever heard of them? Wondering if it's worth trying to refurbish?
Arminius
Humphreysville Mfg. Co was in Seymour CT from around 1850 to 1902. Greenfield Tool was a fairly large maker of planes (also made clamps, gauges and other items) from about the same start period until 1883, based in Greenfield MA. No idea what that would be worth, but it would seem to be a shame not to carry on the tool's history.
