Guest Trace
Well, here it is just 4 days from the fair. I had, yesterday, varnished all of the yard decorations for the sale/fair. Today as I started to spray on a gold metallic finish coat, I noticed a bit of orange peeling. Within a couple of minutes every bit of the area sprayed was lifting off the surface of the spar varnish. I called the local paint store for advice, and was told that there are very few paints that will stick to spar varnish. After some judicious sanding and scraping, a coat of Valspar primer was applied, then a coat of the afore mentioned gold metallic was applied. With a very subdued "Eureka", I continued sanding and scraping until I got tired. Tomorrow will bring more of the same.. I have listed this as a learning experience, under "Boy, was that dumb, or what?". Non-Carbourundum-Illegitmus
