Sprunger bandsaw restoration/modification

I just finished cleaning all of the black paint off the table with a wire wheel on a drill and with 100 grit sandpaper on a ROS. The ROS seemed to work a lot faster removing it.

I also am working a little bit at a time wire wheeling the outside housing. At least on the front where most of the rust is located. The rest of the housing on the back, I will just scuff up before I paint it.

It won't look as good as yours, but it will be good enough for me.

This saw is super easy to work on and take apart. It is the first band saw I've ever had and I always thought it would be more complicated to work on one.

Is 1/2" the max size of blade that will fit on this saw?

I rebuilt a saw just like this in 1988. Sprunger was still in business at that time and I was able to get all the parts I needed directly from them. I still use the saw today. I did not, however, paint it such a horrible color

Interestingly, both Foley Belsaw and Ridgid offered the same exact bandsaw under their own brandname.
