jgfore
I just bought a Powermatic 54a Jointer used off of craigslist. The tables were partially covered in rust from being stored in a non-climate controled storage building. The guy decided to get most of the rust of with a coarse grit sand paper!! I got it home, took it apart and spent a few hours rubbing it down with WD40, steel wool, 150 grit sponge paper, and then polishing it with #000 steel wool. Then when I got it smooth as glass again, I waxed it. WOW!! It was worth every bit of money and elbow work. This thing purrrrrrrs like a kitten. Now I understand why Marc only has POWERMATIC tools. I now have two Powermatic tools and I have once again found.....................that you truely do get what you pay for. I have not been able to purchase one NEW yet, but I will replace all of my existing tools with Powermatic ones when the times comes. nateswoodworks
Congrats on the new tool. I love the feeling you get when you rescue a tool, give it new life, and make it your own-I actually like that feeling more than getting a new tool and putting it together (and that's one of life's greatest pleasures ) Have fun, Nate

DALSAW
It looks like the only difference between my jointer and yours is the name plate. Gotta love those gold tools
