nateswoodworks Posted January 12, 2011 Report Share Posted January 12, 2011 A buddy of mine works at a factory based co. and they were cleaning up some odds-n-ends and were throwing away 3 new sets of 6" jointer knives because they have decreased the size of their maintenance dept over time (thankfully by people retiring) I have 2 sets of knives, my original set that came with my jointer and a set of Freud's that I bought a few yrs ago. These knives seem much nicer than either of my sets, they came in padded tubes with screw on lids with a formed insert that the knives fit into to protect them. I am probably going to use my original set to make a new marking knife as they are getting down there from being resharpened so many times. Finally something goes my way!
