jlk40
The good news: Easy to use, and a lot of clamping pressure. Holds pieces remarkably still...althought I will admit that I did not test-out a lot of dimensions. But with 3/4 inch stock, it was impressively strong. On the more critical side, the only way to use these is to screw them into a surface with at least #8's. That's a committment to permamently put holes somewhere. What would be far more helpful would be the same exact clamp with a 3/4 dog to put into my bench top....both Lee Valley and Veritas carry such hold downs, but they are quite expenssive. It would be nice to see Bessey compete. Thank you Marc for the opportunity.
Dyami Plotke
That's a great idea, having them attach to dogs would be really handy. In fact, I could have used them that way today. Jet has a metal dog that screws into their parallel clamps so you can set it in a dog hole when you need to. A setup like that would be excellent for the toggle clamps.
