Nick2cd
I have a ridgid 14" bandsaw. the small orange plastic insert that the blade goes through is not perfectly level with the cast iron table. it will sometimes cause a workpiece to get caught on the table during a cut. of course, there is often a ridge or divot in the cut that i accidentally make during the correction to free up the work-piece. is this normal? seems like a terribly obvious design flaw. im sure i can find a way to bring it up to be perfectly level with the table, but any suggestions would be appreciated. are there aftermarket inserts that work with the ridgid saw that would be a better fit? flairwoodworks
Tape should work to shim it level. The throat plate on my General is fine. Most of the work I do on the bandsaw is large enough that I could work without the insert as well.
