namluke
Hi, I have a festool T55 track saw, I was wondering if they are compatible with blades other than festool, I was looking at using the blade in the below link, the only difference I can see is the kerf... The festool kerf is 2.2mm and the below blade is 2.8mm Will that difference stop it from being compatible? https://www.screwfix.com/p/freud-tct-circular-saw-blade-160-x-20mm-48t/5536f#product_additional_details_container I do love the festool, but I do feel they are over priced. Tom Crawford
The wider kerf will impact using the track. If the rubber on your track sticks out from the metal a mm or two it may work, however, if you later go back to a Festool blade you will need a new rubber. I have read some have been able to reset the rubber but for others it would not come off in one piece.
Woodenskye
You will need to reposition the strip and recut for the zero clearance. I forget what I switched to, I think it was Oshlun, but I know Tenryu and CMT fit.
TripleR
Makita make a 20 tooth with a 1.8mm kerf, they also make a 40 tooth but I'm not sure what the kerf is.
Kevin Lerma
The other thing to check for is the arbor hole is the same size. If not, you might be in trouble.
namluke
I bought the saw blade in the link above and it worked out perfectly as i had to change the rubber trim on the track saw anyway. Thanks for all your advice though.
