Static_23
I have access to carbide rods and want to know if this would be good to use as a burnishing tool. The rods are about 11" long and 3/8" in diameter and polished smooth.
Nick2cd
I really can't speak intelligently on this subject, as i do not yet own card scrapers......however, i can't imagine that you could go wrong using a smooth carbide rod as a burnisher. it seems that it would have all the necessary properties that conventional wisdom deeds necessary. if i had access to them, i'd definitely use em'. keep us updated
nateswoodworks
That should work great, the nice thing about the carbide is you never really have to worry about getting any nicks in it or mushrooming the steel (had that happen with my first one)-lesson learned, never buy a cheap burnisher.
