duckkisser Posted June 25, 2011 Report Share Posted June 25, 2011 i made this to look like a japanese wood and paper lanturn it is pine that had a very dark heart and i plained down the wood untill the heart started to show through in streaks i stoped when i thought it started to look like flames. the bottom and the top lip are maple. i made the lip by just cuting a square on the topside and cuting out the middle. afterwards i put on router to curve in the top and bottom and then i sanded over the last little bit of the lip so it curved rather then made a strait edge. the inside is just popular ply that i had a few scraps left over. this will end up being given to a cabinet maker who gave the classroom a 55 gal drum full of his cut offs. **********************To view normal click on save right hand corner ill fix for future********************* Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
