philcrane
Can anyone tell me what type of wood this is please? I got it from a show a few years back and it doesn't have it's species written on it. When you start sanding it gives off a very vivid mustard color and clogs sandpaper within seconds! Great figure though
daninhim
Is there a picture somewhere that I'm missing?
Dave F
A photo would really help... so I'm just guessing based on your description... Try.. Bocote, Sapele, Yellowheart or Paduk.. all likely contenders... http://macbeath.com/products/lumber/exotics.html
philcrane
Lets try again, the photo didn't attach to the original post which does make it difficult to identify!
Dave F
Kinda reminds me of Mississippi Red Gum...
alindsey
Lets try again, the photo didn't attach to the original post which does make it difficult to identify! Looks like Bocote to me, though I always think Bocote smells more like pickles than mustard.
Aggie83
He said it looked like mustard, not smelled like mustard, It might be Olive, although I think you might remember that because Olive tends to be pretty expensive.
