woodcanuck
Marc, I've noticed that both you and Charles have the same T-square conspicuously hanging in the background. Who makes it? Where's it from? Anything you don't like about it?
thewoodwhisperer
Its from Woodpeckers: http://www.woodpeck.com/tsquare24.html#257 I love it. Works just as you would expect it to. But I don't really use it all that often.
woodcanuck
Awesome...thanks. I've thought about using a drafting t-square in the shop, never saw one made specifically for woodworking, looks pretty interesting.
Karl Bauer
I have the 12 inch version and it is a great tool but does not get a lot of use. The bar of the T-Square has holes every 1/16 of an inch so if you need a line parallel to the edge of your board all you have to do is put your pencil point in the hole that is marked for the distance that you want and slide the head along the edge. Works great for marking to predrill for bolts, casters, t-nuts, etc. You could also use it to help layout a mortise.
Onboard
Ian, even though it sounds like you won't be going out and buying a T-Square for woodworking anytime soon, for future reference, you might take a look at these "T-Squares" (T-Rules): http://www.incra.com/product_trules.htm
