i want to make a 3 stage pollisher and buffer i know i can get the disks and ready rod to put on my lathe but what i want to know is how do i mount the ready rod to the lathe between the head and tail stock? do i need a jacobs chuck or is there some way to mount it in my regular chuck. since i want to make small boxes and jewlary so i want it to be very shiny. i need to get some kind of polishing compound but none of the stores around here carry any Tripoli, White Diamond, or Carnuba wax. what can i use instead? maybe something from the car polish area?
