StrangeRANGER
I have a 2'x2' Silestone counter slab. Does anyone know if it is as flat as granite? I would like to build a sharpening bench and use it for the surface. Thanks, David
Pbmaster11
Slap a straight edge on it and check it out.
StrangeRANGER
I did, it's pretty flat but I was wondering about it as a general rule. Does it share the same characteristics as granite?
Beechwood Chip
I have a 2'x2' Silestone counter slab. Does anyone know if it is as flat as granite? Granite isn't naturally flat - it's as flat as someone makes it. Same as Silestone.
wleingang
Silestone, which is made just like Caesarstone, is VERY flat. Defects are measured in microns and slabs outside of a tiny tolerance are rejected during manufacturing. The only thing flatter would be an optical table.
