PatrickHosey
I'm really angry about this. They said it's not green enough! I don't like using flotral and latex. I like oil! What the hell!
Jfitz
Patrick, where do you live? Could be a local thing (like not being able to get GF Arm-R-Seal in California)
fransikaner
Ben Moore and most of the majors are moving completely away from oil/alkyd paint lines in the near future. This has been in the works for awhile. The good news is that water-based systems have made exponential improvements in application and lifespan. The bad news is you lose the benefits of oil (interaction with treated surface, quality control, application speed, etc). Regrettably, the woodworking industry is going to get caught up in this transition. The full effect is unclear.
PatrickHosey
I live in Washington state about 2 hours north of Seattle. I'll most likely be stationed in San Diego next so I guess there will be more of the same then too.
HoboMonk
Vote with your dollars and buy what you want elsewhere. Have you tried Sherwin-Williams paint stores? Blessings.
PatrickHosey
I ended up going to another paint and glass store. Even they said that oil is fading out of the market.
