dereklee Posted August 31, 2010 Report Share Posted August 31, 2010 My name is Derek and I live in the San Francisco bay area with my wife and 3 kids (and a dog). I have taken a lot of wood working classes over the years but remodeling our fixer-upper has taken up most of my "project" time over the last 6 years. Since finishing the house last fall I started taking Japanese Joinery classes from Jay Van Arsdale in Oakland, CA. All the work is done in a very traditional Japanese manner and with only Japanese style hand tools. I am loving it!
