tim0625
I recently purchased a Grizzly TS and using a 2 car garage as a shop, I need things mobile and the 1023RLWX is a heavy somebody. Mobile bases I saw on line looked a little expensive relative to the metal sitting in my rack and the wire welder in the corner. Its 1/4”-2×3 angle iron with 3/4 ply in the bottom with 3” wheels on outriggers. It easily rolls over any giblets in the floor. After I put the saw in it, I realized the Grizzly fence system rails actually support the RH cast iron table. Using an Incra fence system instead of the Grizzly, I mounted the black supporting legs directly to the cast iron table and to keep them in place and plumb, I made the red bracket. The ends of the legs had adjustment screws with pads on the ends, but I replaced them with adjustable wheels. It works sweet and my cabinet saw is very stable and very mobile. The zero clearance insert is a piece of 3/4 maple with 1/4-20 set screws for leveling. I drilled a 3/16 hole in the hard maple and tapped it with a 1/4-20 tap…works like a charm. Little Tung oil and wax and it’s good to go. Thanks for looking!
rmac
Beautiful. I love it when people put in the extra effort on stuff like this to make it look nice,. -- Russ
fransikaner
This is very sweet, Tim. i particularly like the outrigger - not many viable commercial solutions out there for this often overlooked requirement. CessnaPilotBarry
While nicely done, the $30 price is cool! IF you have welding equipment... For those of us with neither equipment or welding skills...
