John Klein
I recently bought a section of 1x2 maple that has (to me) very unusual figure...varies from stripes to flame with some round spots. I made the stick part of a cane for someone and would like to tell her what that type of maple is called. I am currently using an iPad and don't know how to include or attach photos. Ok, I found out how...
wdwerker
Curly maple, tiger stripe maple, fiddleback maple just to name a few. All refer to the kind of maple you have. Usually soft maple but it also occurs in hard maple as well.
