osgw380
I have been looking for a way to speed up making multiple loose mortise and tennon cuts. I have been using a shop made jig now to cut mortises with a plunge router and set up is difficult with the jig and I don't get good consistent results. I have been looking at the leigh fmt jig and I have been leaning that way because I need to make mortises on compound angles often. I have looked for people using the domino for the same thing but I have not had success finding videos using it on angles. Does anyone have any advice on using the domino on angles? I attached a photo as an example of what I am talking about. I figure a simple jig could be made to hold everything in place to make the cut especially on the ends of the rails. Any thoughts? Thanks Allen
wdwerker
I have the DF500, but they operate the same way. You can cut a mortice into almost any flat face with either the fence or a jig. The fence will tilt to an angle. Sometimes the off-cut from a part can be used to make a quick jig, I use double faced tape.
..Kev
I have the 500 as well and used it for putting in domimos on angles without any problem.
Nick2cd
I can't foresee any problems with using a domino on joints like that. It would make that project go quick!
osgw380
Thanks that's what I'm looking for is to speed up the process. That is a lot of dough for one tool but I utilize loose mortise and tennon on nearly every project.
