Immortan D
I needed my bandsaw sled this morning and again it was having a lot of play. I sanded the runners the last time I used it because the sled was to tight, that must be it. Instead of making new runners, I decided to go for a more permanent solution. My bandsaw table has two 3/8 holes on the right side, for attaching an extension wing. I attached a drawer slider to a 2x2 section and then attached the 2x2 to the table using 3/8 hardware. Finally I set the sledge on the table, made sure it was square to the blade, and screwed it to the slider. It's a simple design, I can take it out and put it back really easily. The hard part was the accuracy required to make the holes for the 3/8 bolts on the 2x2. I misplaced the holes in my first attempt so I had to flip the 2x2 over and start again. Also screwing the sled to the slider was a bit of a PITA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiwoE26BP1w

wdwerker
Neat idea! It acts like my big sliding table on my tablesaw. What do you crosscut on the bandsaw with the limitations of the throat on length? Stock too thick for a tablesaw sled comes to mind.
