jimmyhopps
Following up on an earlier post, I'm going to strip a table top and refinish. Has anyone ever done this after they've used the CN blotch control? I need to go all the way down and change the dye color of the wood. Hoping the blotch control doesn't impact in any way? thanks. wtnhighlander
CN blotch control is intendednfor use under a dye or stain, to help prevent, well...blotching. If you are able to remove all the original topcoat and colorant, I can't imagine that any of the blotch control remaining would cause a problem. Plan to use it again under the new color? jimmyhopps
I think I will. It certainly prevented blotch - none to be found in my maple table top. I wasn't sure if the stripper would react adversely with the CN product, or since the CN product soaks into the wood, if some other technique was needed to get it to release the existing dye. wtnhighlander
I'm pretty sure you will have to sand a bit to get the dye off. Stripper may remove some, but I doubt it will get all.
Charles Neil
the stripper will remove the Blotch control, how ever it should also help more of the dye come off as well.

jimmyhopps
I guess i might as well ask the follow up question - any favorite products for stripping? Methyl Cloride based vs the new 'green' products? I've got Enduro Var on the table. They recommended MC but open to ideas.
