BigWoody
I have quite a few blades that I inherited from my father. I do not know the brand of some because the markings are worn down. Is there a way to tell higher quality blades from lower quality ones just by looking at them? Is it worth it to get the blades sharpened, if so where do I get this done and how much does it usually cost?

They could probably give you a good assesment seeing them first hand. Typically sharpening services charge by the number of teeth and sometimes size of blade, and any repairs required.
