duckkisser
I was thinking of buying the universal magswitch featherboard but I can't tell if the switches are removable. It would be nice to take them out for a shop made jig. Does anyone have one of these featherboards with the feather part on both sides? wdwerker
Here is a view disassembled . This version could probably let you use the switches on other jigs. http://www.amazon.com/Magswitch-STARTER-KIT-Includes-Reversible/dp/B004AO3IJM

duckkisser
https://mag-tools.com/magswitch-universal-featherboard.html Stevev I was looking at geting this one. If I need too ill get the more expensive unit and then make a smaller featherboard like this one in the link
wdwerker
What's the need for smaller ? The one I linked is reversible and can be used for other jigs and be taken apart, seems like a win win to me. Yea it costs more. Wouldn't be surprised if it had more holding power. Magnetic stuff can slip or move under too much force.
duckkisser
I want something I can use on my router table the larger unit takes up a lot of space....fine on a table saw less fine on a router or bandsaw. Mostly. Just wanted a smaller featherboard that I could take the magnets out but I'm going to have to buy the full size. Then make jigs as needed. Eric.
Get a Grip-Tite instead. They're better. Much stronger magnets. I had a Magswitch too but I sold it to Mel. They're okay but they do have a tendency to slip around a bit on a freshly waxed table. Grip-Tite is a beast. http://www.rockler.com/grip-tite-magnetic-feather-board
duckkisser
Its a easy fix for the mag sliding use some double stick tape and a disc of rubber anti sliding material it locks it in place realy well.
