If you can find a copy of Woodenboat Magazine, look for issue #177. In your neck of the woods, you can probably pick one up if you head down to Costa Mesa, and stop in at Minney's. If that's too much of a drive, you can download an eCopy for I think $5. She also wrote a book called "The Art of Finishing Wood".
