dlamulle
Ok all you glue guru's, I'm building a Mahogany Morris chair (might post some pics of it if you like) and I'm ready for the first glue up phase. What might the best approach be to glue up the thru mortise's and not have all kinds of glue push thru the other side and ruin the whole thing. Mahogany is a lot softer than WO and wicks up water much faster so I would hate to try to wipe it off after it pushes out. Blue tape? Push part way in then apply glue to sides of tenon? Please give me some ideas. Thanks in advance. Dave

A couple of coats of shellac should be enough of a barrier against the glue.
PaulMarcel
If you haven't already milled the tenon stock, you could make the tenons 1/8" longer than the hole and flush cut them afterwards, which makes it a bit easier to get dead-nuts on. Then you don't care as much about the end having glue on it since you're gonna lop it off. Otherwise, AHW's suggestion is brilliant.
