tenmilehardwoods
we have a sign with 2 coats of Envirotex lite bar top epoxy. on mixed species of wood. we had some tacky issues so we 220 screen buffed out. now we are wondering if we can re-coat with our satin polyurethane flooring finish? drzaius
If there are tacky spots, that would indicate improper or incomplete mixing of the epoxy components. That stuff needs to be mixed very thoroughly. The right way to fix it would be to strip back the uncured epoxy & go from there. If the 220 took all the tacky stuff off, then the poly should be alright as a top coat unless it is going outside in the weather. Then something like spar varnish would be much better.
