lighthearted
Anyone have any experience working with Mushroom Wood? I picked some up yesterday, for some doors I'm building. Great texture, but splintery. Its dry, but needs some prep, power washing, etc. any advice? thanks
wdwerker
Depends on the condition it is in. The commercially available boards are usually planed on one side and either wire brushed or sandblasted. A pressure washer might cut through too fast and then the moisture could take a lot of time to dry out. Plus moisture can cause warping & twisting. What kind of doors do you plan to build ? lighthearted
Barn doors. Planing to plane one side. I’l start with a brush and see where that leads me.
