Stampy
I finished this box/bench for our entry way. Our house was built when closets were optional so storage is always a challenge The frame is old fir deck boards that I planed down to 1 3/8 x 3 1/4. And the panels (2 piece glue up) are cedar planks that I found in the cold storage room of my house. And have been hanging onto for 7 years. The top is also cedar, 3 piece glue up. It's finished with 4 coats of Varathane clear coat. I love the weathered look to the frame. A buddy of mine gave me the fir and he has 1800 board feet of it left so I should be able to come up with another use for it. I'm thinking coffee table top. Let me know what you think Stampy
TomP
It looks great Stampy. The color looks so natural and I love the look of the frame. I know what you mean by closets are optional

Stampy
Thanks guy's. I like the idea of working with the local wood And there's no lack of fir and cedar out here on the west coast.
