I built this 2 story shop a little over 2 years ago pretty much just me and my youngest son. Had some help from other friends and family at various times too. It's 24 X 48 and the ground level is for working on cars and bikes. The second floor is the woodworking shop. I fabricated a hoist system on a trolley to facilitate moving heavy objects to and from the second floor. Still have some sheetrocking to do and I just took the photos in the middle of a project so it's not nice and clean... Hope this first post is not too long... Lots of advantages of a 2nd story shop, and the main disadvantage (getting stuff up to it) you seem to have found a great solution for. I really want to finish it up as I want to lay down an oak floor in the woodshop. Alas however, ran out of money so it will have to wait a while....
