Was I supposed to leave it on the lathe and finish on the lathe? So far a little tung oil, the client wanted the urn blue so that is why it is. wtnhighlander Posted January 9, 2021 Report Share Posted January 9, 2021 Keeping on the lathe makes sanding and polishing the curved surfaces easier, but isn't strictly necessary. Since you already applied some oil, I'd suggest Minwax Tung Oil Finish, or Formby's Tung Oil finish. They are wiping finishes, oil & varnish blends, and should be compatible with what you already applied. Both will produce a high gloss without a thick film, if the surface is smooth.
