jimmykx250
I am putting several coats of 100% real tung oil from the milk paint company on a walnut table top. After 4 coats the material does not seem to be soaking any more up. Is it time to stop applying and just give it a light buffing. I have no experience with this stuff. The directions state 10 coats for table tops.
ejarvi
It won't soak in anymore but you are still building layers, which is what you want. Are you using the dark or "regular" tung oil?

Vic
After the table is saturated, the remaining coats are applied much like you wax a car. Just a little on and let it dry, repeat. I use a polymerized tung oil. It has a bit more protection, but still the beautiful, very close to the wood look.
noddie1
I'm experiencing the same thing right now, and with a drying time of 24 hours between coats, wondering if waiting another week is really worth it?
