wjffineww
This probably isn't the best question and I'm not even sure if it matters, but I'm going to ask anyways. When adjusting the speed of a router, should it be running or not while you do it? Or doesn't it matter?
flairwoodworks
Good question. You can adjust the speed while the router is on or off. But if you put a huge bit in it and turn it on with the speed set to max and then turn it down, you're asking for trouble. I usually set the speed to where I think it should be with the router off, erring on the side of too low of RPMs. Then I turn the router on and increase the speed as required, going by sound.
