mkirby Posted May 2, 2011 Report Share Posted May 2, 2011 Hi all, I'm just starting out into woodworking so thought i would post some pics of what i have made so far. Apologies if this is in the wrong place i couldn't see a gallery topic. The 1st thing i ever made in wood, a 22 string round back harp kit. I only had to trim the mortice and tennons on the arm and the joint to the sound box, Everything else had been assembled and shaped. After that a hell of a lot of sanding and then finished with a wiping varnish. Sounds very nice when played. Then i made another for my music teacher as a xmas present. This one i made from scratch, i had enough wood left over to make a 6 string version for a friend too. Detail of the carving. Lots of mistakes made on both but im still impressed i made two that sound good. Hoping to stick with the instrument theme but also to move into instrument cases and music stands. Hope you like them.
