AlanWilley
Shot at 2007-07-14 This was designed and built by me a couple of years ago. It was a bit of a change from the 'normal' cabinet making. It was built to house a hot tub and was constructed from treated redwood. Most of it was built on site although I had to cut the trellis work back at the shop. Shot at 2007-07-07 I had some good fun making the roof trusses for this shape and also allowing spaces for two roof windows. Beechwood Chip
Very impressive! Since this is the critique room, Why did you add a lattice behind the spindles and the brackets where the pillars meet the joists? I find the diagonal pattern showing through the other patterns disturbing.
AlanWilley
Yes I have to agree with you Beechwood. Unfortunitely I had to make the trellis back at the shop and the customer wanted the trellis at the top. I thought it would have looked better with the trellis only at the bottom. I did build another one without any trellis work and it did look much better in my opinion.
dcustoms
Very nice job! I'm sure your client's were happy. you can tell by looking at it that it was made by a cabinet maker...it just looks more refined and well made that what you would normally expect from the average carpenter.
