Outdoor Spraying

Hey Jim. I try to avoid spraying in the direct sunlight when possible. The finish dries fast enough and the sun just seems to accelerate things. The result is increased overspray drying on the surface. I also avoid excessive wind. Around here, the wind picks up a lot of dust. That's obviously bad news for finishing. But if you live in an area where the wind doesn't necessarily carry a bunch of dust with it, the wind can be helpful. Just make sure you spray upwind and let the wind carry away the overspray.

I spray outside all the time and I get pretty decent results overall. But you should be comfortable with "finishing the finish" since you can never get an absolutely perfect finish off the gun when spraying outside.
