I suppose it's not too difficult to sort out why I joined today, but I've been lurking the site for awhile and been watching the guild build even though I joined up with that a little late in the game.

I've been working on this new hobby for a little less than a year now. I bought a house last October and didn't waste any time in blocking my wife's side of the garage with my tool purchases. My grandfather was a woodworker, but he passed before I was really able to learn from him.

Hopefully I'll be able to better my skills to the point he'd be proud. I'm sure he would have been amazed by the resources available on the web for beginners like myself.

I've mostly been working on smaller projects, but before long I'll need to start trying something original so my project portfolio doesn't just emulate Marc's projects in every single way. :-)
