eball
Current 12' section of my garage that is my 'shop' Overall design Design for assembly bench portion Exploded view I work in my driveway Breaking down sheet plywood Safety is very important Didnt follow my own advice, slight delay is working on project Edge banding, only a couple irwin quick clamps in my arsenal, so using tape and brad nails Bought a full set of clamps of craigslist. Yeah! Starting base assembly Constantly refering back to my sketchup...thank you Sketchup! More base assembly using new clamps. Glue-up of first 2 layers of top and proving to my wife that "Yes, i really do need that many clamps!" Picked up two old 10" wilton woodworking vises on craigslist for $30 each. After cleanup and paint strip using auto parts cleaning vat (see other post under general woodworking: clamp clean up) A friend of mine has access to a powder coating shop. Hoping to get these powdercoated cheap. Next is to work on the 3rd layer of the top: consists of many parts I need to puzzle together. Made up of MDF, hardboard, and oak runners for the bench dog holes. Hopefully i can keep it all flush. I only get to work in the shop about once a week so the process is slow, but i love it. Once this project is done, i hope to work on the wall unit. Will post more pics as i progress.
