I have about 20 bf of Black Locust I'm don't really know what I could use it for. I know its rot resistant and very hard , the grain it not really that nice, kinda plain looking, but the end grain would look nice in a bread board, any ideas

locust is great for turning i have a couple of projects that i realy like that turned out well. locust cut smooth no catches, sands clean and smooth, and takes a finish well. while its not as vibrant as many woods it does have its place in wood working. because it strong, hard, and handles easily. ill put a couple pictures on here later of some of the projects that i have made and you can see for yourself.

Don't recall seeing anything that indicated that Black Locust lumber was toxic. http://www.woodworkerssource.com/toxicity_list.php

On my paternal grandfather's farm they used black locust (and osage orange) for fence posts. My Dad used black locust for making arbors for his climbing roses.

Don't recall him ever using it for building furnature though.
