CJC5151 Posted October 22, 2012 Report Share Posted October 22, 2012 Hey guys, getting ready to start my new bench...I do have a question about the vises. Has anyone built their own vises with wooden screws... There are 2 reasons why i ask this. First the obvious is cost...I know the reviews for the bench craft hardware is incredible but ouch it is just as hard a hit to the pocket book. The other reason is i'm a power tool guy. That being said, because my skills are advancing i have definitely seen my method of work incorporating a lot of hand work...hence the bench build. But since everything else in my shop is loud and modern, I like the idea of when i go to the bench i'm more traditional, and i would like to make my own wooden screws and really give it that authentic feel...any help would be great thanks a lot Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
