Surprisingly, I haven't seen a single guild build that included the shaker cabinets. If I bought their $40 plans, would it mesh 100% with the guild plans? Or did Marc tweak the dimensions/design? Texfire Posted November 9, 2012 Report Share Posted November 9, 2012 The guild build was based on the Benchcrafted Split Roubo design, not the Shaker Bench. This is why you didn't see any cabinets on the guild builds. I have no idea how much Marc tweaked the designs, but my impression was not very much, just in much more detail. JerrySats Posted November 10, 2012 Report Share Posted November 10, 2012 You can visit the Benchcrafted web site and see the split top roubo and shaker bench . Totally different benches , the shaker top isn't as thick as the roubo top . You'll use much less lumber in the shaker build as the base is made up of plywood cabinets .
