MarkWilliams64 Posted February 10, 2013 Report Share Posted February 10, 2013 This is the other Mallet Design that was in the Shop Notes Article. This is a Carver's Mallet. I plan to use it for Hand Cut Dovetail work. The head is a lamination of Purple Heart and Maple. The handle was made from a piece of 8/4 Walnut that came from my Grandparents Farm. I finished it with Tung Oil and Wax. I don't own a Lathe and the article showed how to make both the head and handle using a Router and some jigs. This was the hardest part.
