Posted August 4, 2015 Report Share Posted August 4, 2015 A few thoughts...If you don't get any responses here, try visiting or contacting Woodworker's Source, the local Woodcraft, Rockler, or woodworking clubs/guilds...you should be able to gather a substantial list of local contacts.If this is going to be a surprise gift, and your friend is a woodworker, you might play it safe and blow the surprise element and ask if it's wanted...many if not most woodworkers build their own benches because they can...and should.Prepare yourself for sticker shock...it won't be cheap to have built. Like eric said, a bench (that will cost what that will) is not best left to surprise. Every woodworker needs different things in a bench.
